“Tolerance and acceptance and love is something that feeds every community.”– Lady Gaga
“It is up to each of us to make the best use of our time to help create a happier world.”- The Dalai Lama
Everyone loves stories. That‘s why we come to share and listen online. But have you noticed how many of our stories – on the news, through social media and even in text messages – are unhappy stories, put-downs and bullying? One-in-four young people say they have experienced hurtful behaviors online. Yet, most of us are not bullies or victims, but bystanders. So, what can we do? We can stand up and promote happiness. That’s what Yllub (pronounced “I Lub <3) is all about: reversing bullying. It’s a movement to stand up, share and feel the good in all of us. Take a moment to post something that praises instead of puts down, celebrates rather than slams. Tell stories of good and see the change you can inspire.
If you see something mean-spirited online, don’t share or “like” it. Ask your friends to be kinder online.
Did you see an inspiring video? Did your friend make you smile? Have you seen kindness today? Post an image, video or text on your social media account and tag or mention YLLUB.
